Educational Games Platform "Always Icecream" Becoming a Destination Site for Homeschooled Girls
Homeschool parents increasingly choose the educational games platform Always Icecream for their daughters. The site has developed an innovative approach to motivating young girls to learn in a playful way.

Daniel Ziegler, their oldest son, has contributed to the software that is behind the edutainment platform. He learned how to program while he was being homeschooled, and very successfully so: In 2008, he was the youngest finalist ever at the USA Computing Olympiad and has been a finalist in 2009 and 2010 as well.

While the site also attracts members who attend public or private schools, more than half of the girls who participate come from homeschooling families.

The site offers a free trial and then charges a subscription fee of $3.99 per month or $23.99 per year for a discounted annual membership. Always Icecream has been certified by the Privo Privacy Insurance Program to comply with or exceed the requirements of the Children's Online Protection Act.
